2026 Legacy Weekend:

Hosted by College of Charleston leaders, Legacy Weekend is a meaningful celebration of the enduring impact of generosity, engagement, and lifelong connection to the College of Charleston. The weekend honors members of the Cistern Society and Porters Circle for their legacy commitments while also celebrating alumni marking 50 years or more since graduation, with special reunion programming for the Classes of 1975 and 1976. Together, alumni and friends are invited to reconnect with campus, reflect on shared history, and look ahead to the College’s continued momentum.
Friday, February 20, 2026:
Legacy Weekend Check In
10:00 am-5:00 pm, Towell Library
Begin your Legacy Weekend experience with a warm welcome at Towell Library, where guests can check in, receive weekend materials, ask questions, and connect with fellow alumni and friends throughout the day.
Campus Guided Trolley Tour
10:30 am to 12:00 pm
Rediscover the College of Charleston through a fun step-on/step-off campus bus tour highlighting iconic spaces, recent enhancements, and the evolving student experience. This relaxed tour offers an easy way to connect with campus leaders and one another. Space is limited to 50 people.
Addlestone Library Special Collections Tour – A Look Back at the 1970s
2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and again from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Step back in time with a curated tour of Addlestone Library Special Collections featuring materials and memories from the 1970s. This intimate experience celebrates a formative era in the College’s history and the alumni who shaped it. Max participation is 20 per tour.
50th Reunion Celebration
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, 6 Glebe
Join classmates and friends for a special evening honoring the Classes of 1975 and 1976 with a celebratory reception. Together, we will reflect on shared memories, lasting friendships, and the enduring impact of lifelong engagement with Alma Mater.
School of the Arts Opera – Hansel and Gretel
7:00 pm, Sottile Theater
Enjoy an evening of artistic excellence with a performance of Hansel and Gretel by the School of the Arts. This optional cultural experience showcases the talent of our students and the strength of the College’s creative programs. 7:30 pm, Simons Center Black Box Theatre
Enjoy the classic tale of rival families, star-crossed lovers, and deadly duels intertwined in one of Shakespeare’s best-known and well-loved tragedies. State of the University- A fireside chat with Executive Vice President and Provost, Suzanne Austin
9:30 am to 11:00 am, Alumni Hall in Randolph Hall
Join Provost Austin for a conversational update on the College’s momentum, priorities, and future direction. This fireside chat offers insight into how alumni and donors continue to play a vital role in shaping what comes next.
Cistern Society and Porters Circle Luncheon
11:30 am to 1:30 pm, 3rd Floor of Addlestone Library
Celebrate the generosity and foresight of our planned giving donors at a special luncheon honoring members of the Cistern Society and Porters Circle. This signature stewardship moment reflects gratitude for those whose legacy commitments will sustain the College for generations. 50+ reunion alumni are invited to attend as well.
C YOU At The Cistern: Tailgate in Cistern Yard
1:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Gather in the heart of campus for a spirited tailgate celebration ahead of the men’s basketball game. Guests will enjoy food, conversation, and campus camaraderie, with an elevated VIP experience.
Men’s Basketball Game: CofC vs. Monmouth
4:00 pm, TD Arena
Cheer on the Cougars as they take the court against Monmouth in a highlight of the weekend’s community spirit. Regular game tickets will be available for the first 125 registrants who would like to attend, with additional recognition opportunities for our weekend guests throughout the game.
